Hoxie scored early and often to take a 33-0 lead into the locker room at halftime and coasted to a 39-0 rout of the Brinkley Tigers in front of a homecoming crowd Friday night at Crider Field.

It did not take long for the Mustangs to light up the scoreboard. Houston Hancock scored on a one-yard run and Brad Cook added the PAT for a 7-0 lead with 6:29 to play in the first quarter.

Tyler Thompson added to Hoxie's lead with 2:32 left in the quarter, scoring on a one-yard run. The extra-point was good by Cook and the Mustangs led 14-0.

Alex Ward scored on a one-yard run with 55 seconds left in the quarter to increase the lead to 20-0. The conversion attempt was no good.

Ward lit up the scoreboard again on a 21-yard run with 20 seconds to play. Cook added the extra point for a 27-0 Mustang first-quarter lead, as the stampede continued.

The Mustangs' Cade Crisler grabbed a Tiger interception and returned it 26 yards for a touchdown with 10:23 left in the second quarter. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful, but the Mustangs took a 33-0 lead to the field house.

Blaine Middlecoff scored Hoxie's final points on a six-yard run with 1:40 left in the third quarter, setting the game's final score at 39-0.

Hoxie racked up 272 yards of offense, while holding Brinkley to 10 yards.
