Lady Bobcats lose

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats traveled to Bay on Oct. 9 for high school volleyball action. The Lady Cats fell to the Lady Yellowjackets in five hard-fought games 16-25, 11-25, 28-26, 25-20, 15-17.

Rachel Looney recorded 17 kills and six blocks. Vanessa Oliver served 16-of-19, with two aces, nine digs, 13 kills and four blocks. Chelsea Treadway served 5-of-11, with an ace, seven digs and seven kills, and Chelsea Fultner added five digs and two kills.

Amber Caldwell was 6-of-8 at the line, with 10 digs, a kill, 10 assists and a block. Chelsey Linebaugh was 15-of-19 serving, with an ace, seven digs and 20 assists. Samantha Knight was 12-of-15 serving, with four aces and five digs, and Taylor Wagoner served 13-of-18 with two aces and seven digs.

Walnut Ridge won the junior high match 25-23, 25-15.

Walnut Ridge defeated Bay 25-19 in the junior B match.

Piggott

Walnut Ridge hosted the Piggott Lady Mohawks in volleyball on Oct. 8.

The senior Lady Bobcats fell to Piggott 18-25, 20-25, 15-25.

Looney closed with eight kills and six blocks. Oliver served 7-of-8, with 10 digs, six kills and six blocks. Treadway was 12-of-12 at the line, with three aces, six digs and two kills. Fultner added two digs, three kills and two blocks.

Caldwell was 8-of-10 at the serving line, with three aces, three digs and five assists. Linebaugh recorded 7-of-9, with five digs and 10 assists. Knight served 4-of-5, with an ace and eight digs, and Wagoner was 8-of-9, with an ace and 11 digs.
