County to begin
for jury service
In September, Judge Phillip Smith, administrative judge of the Third Judicial District, issued an order for Lawrence County Circuit Clerk, Michelle Evans, to begin using the "enhanced jury list" for pulling potential jurors.
New baby receives
When Aiden Howard came into this world on Sept. 10, he received an extra special welcome. His father, SPC Jeremy Howard of Jonesboro, had traveled from Iraq to witness his son's birth.
The annual Kiwanis Radio Auction will be held Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. It will be broadcast over radio stations KRLW AM 1320 and FM 106.3 and continue until all items are sold.

WR Council meets
The Walnut Ridge City Council held its Oct. 9 meeting in the Walnut Ridge Army Flying School Museum at the invitation of the museum board. A meal was provided before the meeting and a tour of the museum was given following the meeting.

Hoxie to hire full-time
Hoxie aldermen voted to hire a full-time code enforcement officer during the regular meeting on Oct. 9. Mayor Donnie Roberts and Hoxie Fire Chief Will Tate spoke to the council regarding the city's need for a full-time position as opposed to part time.
