Spc. Kenneth Clark of Powhatan was a special guest at the Walnut Ridge Middle School on Friday, less than a week since his return from a year's deployment in Iraq with the National Guard's 875th Engineer Battalion out of Jonesboro. On hand for his visit were school administrators and media representatives, as well as students and teachers.continued...
Hoxie Band
receives
several awards
The Hoxie Band was named Class A Champion at the Mid-South Classic Marching Contest held last Saturday at Jonesboro High School. The band received nine awards in the contest, including First Place Band in Class A, Outstanding Visual Effect, Excellent Rated Band, second place color guard and second place Drum line.

The Walnut Ridge High School Pride Band received several awards at the 2007 Mid-South Marching Classic held at Jonesboro High School last Saturday.
