The Hoxie Band was named Class A Champion at the Mid-South Classic Marching Contest held last Saturday at Jonesboro High School. The band received nine awards in the contest, including First Place Band in Class A, Outstanding Visual Effect, Excellent Rated Band, second place color guard and second place Drum line.

Drum Major Lindsay Baltz received a superior rating and ranked third place. Gretchen Colburn took the third place Soloist Award for her French horn solo and Destiny Anderson received the first place Soloist Award for trumpet.

The band is under the direction of Brent Bristow, and the color guard is under the direction of Joyce Duncan.
