Bobcats earn victory

The scoring started with Jared Blackwell hitting sophomore Derek Medlock on a 46-yard pass minutes into the ballgame.
Meadors passed eight yards to Medlock for a touchdown with 23 seconds left in the quarter to give Walnut Ridge a 14-0 lead.
After Rector scored early in the third quarter to pull within 14-7, Meadors connected with Dudley for an eight-yard score to give the Bobcats a 20-7 lead.

Crosstown rivals Hoxie and Walnut Ridge met again on the volleyball court Thursday night at Walnut Ridge's Sharum Gymnasium.continued ...

Walnut Ridge traveled to Paragould on Sept. 25 to take on Crowley's Ridge Academy in high school volleyball action. The Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Bobcats 21-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-10.continued ...
Hoxie sweeps Pocahontas
Hoxie took on Pocahontas in high school volleyball action on Sept. 26 at Hicks Gymnasium in Hoxie, as Lady Mustang coach Judy Goodwin coached against her daughter, Courtney Goodwin, who is in her first year as coach of the Lady Redskins. The evening proved to be a case of "mother knows best," with Hoxie winning both the junior and senior high contests.continued ...
