Tax deadline is next week
The deadline to pay personal and real estate taxes without penalty is Oct. 10.Taxes can be paid in the tax collector's office of the Lawrence County Courthouse in Walnut Ridge or online at https://www.ark.org/lawrencecounty/index.php. The office will be open on Columbus Day, Oct. 8, but will be closed Oct. 11, to allow for posting of mailed payments.
"There will be a drop box outside," said Tax Collector Stephanie Harris, "for those who don't want to come inside." She added that the wait is usually not more than a few minutes.
