Preparations by election commissioners Lee Turnbull, Pat Whitmire and John Allen paid off as final results were announced at 9:30 p.m.

In the race for Lawrence County School Board, Walnut Ridge position, Ron Ingram defeated Cathy Coker by a vote of 211 to 190.

Incumbent Marlyn Tate won re-election to the Hoxie School Board defeating Hoss Jones 152 to 105.
