School election is Tuesday

Patrons of the Hoxie and Lawrence County School districts will go to the polls Tuesday to decide school board races.

On the Hoxie ballot, Marlyn Tate, incumbant, and Hoss Jones, both of Hoxie, are vying for the seat.

The open Lawrence County position is a Walnut Ridge seat and is being sought by Cathy Coker and Ron Ingram, both of Walnut Ridge. The position is currently held by Ross Rainwater, who did not seek re-election.

Voters in both the former Black Rock and Walnut Ridge districts will vote on the Lawrence County position.

Early voting, which is underway at the Lawrence County clerk's office, will continue through Monday. The polls will be open on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
