Lady Cats sweep Cavewomen

Walnut Ridge's Lady Bobcats opened their home volleyball season with a three-game sweep of the Cave City Cavewomen on Aug. 21. The Lady Cats won the games by scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-7.
For Walnut Ridge, Rachel Looney recorded six kills and six blocks. Vanessa Oliver went 22-of-35 at the serving line, with seven aces, four digs and a kill. Chelsea Treadway hit 8-of-10 at the line, with two aces and a kill. Chelsi Fultner closed with 7-of-8 serving, with three aces, two digs and two kills. Amber Caldwell served 5-of-5, with two aces and five assists. Chelsey Linebaugh went 10-for-12 serving and had five assists. Sam Knight was 7-of-7 at the line with two aces and four digs. Jessica Baldwin served 5-of-6, with an ace and had two digs.
The Walnut Ridge junior Lady Cats defeated Cave City 25-15 and 25-7.
Walnut Ridge hosted Ridgefield Christian on Thursday, taking the victory 25-9, 25-4, 25-8.
Looney had five kills and one dig. Oliver served 14-of-16 with six aces and had three digs and a kill. Treadway went 4-of-4 at the line, with two aces and had a kill. Fultner closed serving 4-of-5 with a dig and two kills. Caldwell served 5-for-5 with an ace and three assists. Linebaugh went 5-for-6 with six aces. Emily Holder served 2-of-3 with four assists. Taylor Wagoner hit 13-for-14 with five aces and three digs.
The junior Lady Cats defeated Ridgefield Christian 25-5, 25-13.
