Mustang volleyball in transition

Volleyball season is underway and Hoxie's Lady Mustangs are gearing up for another big year in 2007. This season will be a year of transition for the Lady Mustangs, as both the junior and senior high teams return only one starter from last season.

Lady Cats sweep Cavewomen

Walnut Ridge's Lady Bobcats opened their home volleyball season with a three-game sweep of the Cave City Cavewomen on Aug. 21. The Lady Cats won the games by scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-7.

Ridgefield Christian defeated Walnut Ridge 4-0 in senior girls' tennis on Aug. 21 at Allen Park. The teams split four matches in senior boys' play.

WRHS, Kelley lead 3-team golf match

Walnut Ridge High School's John-Scott Kelley shot a three-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors and lead Walnut Ridge to victory in a three-team high school golf match on Aug. 21 at Paragould.
