Mustang volleyball in transitionVolleyball season is underway and Hoxie's Lady Mustangs are gearing up for another big year in 2007. This season will be a year of transition for the Lady Mustangs, as both the junior and senior high teams return only one starter from last season.
Lady Cats sweep CavewomenWalnut Ridge's Lady Bobcats opened their home volleyball season with a three-game sweep of the Cave City Cavewomen on Aug. 21. The Lady Cats won the games by scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-7.
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs and junior Lady Mustangs each opened the 2007 volleyball season with wins over Cave City on Aug. 20.

Bobcats scrimmage Cave CityThe Walnut Ridge Bobcats took on Cave City in a senior high football scrimmage last week.
WR tennis teams split winsRidgefield Christian defeated Walnut Ridge 4-0 in senior girls' tennis on Aug. 21 at Allen Park. The teams split four matches in senior boys' play.
WRHS, Kelley lead 3-team golf matchWalnut Ridge High School's John-Scott Kelley shot a three-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors and lead Walnut Ridge to victory in a three-team high school golf match on Aug. 21 at Paragould.
