CLASSES START TODAY AT WILLIAMS~ Jessica McCormick, a freshman from Lake City, carries her belongings into Southerland Hall at Williams Baptist College. Williams students returned to the residence halls on Monday. Classes for the fall semester are set to begin on Wednesday.

official for 39th
The Arkansas National Guard has now received the official order for the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team to mobilize in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom early in January 2008.
Farm Bureau names
The Lawrence County Farm Bureau announced at its annual meeting Monday night that it has established the Bill Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund. The meeting was held at Van Ellis Cafetorium on the Walnut Ridge School campus.

The Apaches of Company A 2nd Battalion 153rd Infantry of the 39th Brigade, based in Walnut Ridge, have seen a new commanding officer and mobilization orders this month.

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats and Hoxie Mustangs will face off for the last time on the football field Friday night.
