Kelleys continue golfing success

Barrett Kelley (left) took first place in his age division of the Arkansas Junior PGA State Championship Golf Tournament recently. John-Scott Kelley placed third in his age division.

Barrett and John-Scott Kelley both excelled in the Arkansas Junior PGA State Championship golf tournament held at Greystone Country Club in Cabot on Thursday.

Barrett won the 16-17-year-old division with a 71 on the par 72 Mountain Springs Course. He won the title by four strokes and was also named the overall medalist of the tournament.

The Kelleys' brother, Cameron, won the 16-17-year-old division last year in the same tournament.

John-Scott also fared well, finishing third in the 14-15-year-old division.

The brothers competed in the Northeast Regional competition to qualify for state. Barrett finished first and John-Scott placed second in their respective divisions.

They are the sons of Terry and Sloan Kelley of Walnut Ridge.
