Trip is enjoyable
I have spent all my life in Northeast Arkansas, and though I am somewhat well-traveled, I had never visited St. Louis. I made my first trip to the popular destination over the weekend.
My sister and her husband live in St. Peters, and we decided to take a mini vacation and visit them before I got any more pregnant.
Empty nest looming
My daughter, Megan, just celebrated her 17th birthday. It is hard for me to believe that she is all but grown up. She is planning for college, a career, a home of her own and apparently moving to somewhere more exciting than small town Arkansas.
She has dreams of becoming a professional photographer and has some talent in that area. I guess she has had a camera around her neck since she was six.
Organization of Chamber explained
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, in one form or another, has been around for many years. I am unsure of the exact date of its founding, but if you have ever been to the chamber's office you have probably seen the large display hanging on the wall showing all the past chairmen. The earliest chairman listed on the display is Jim Bland, Sr., in the year of 1944. That shows that the organization has been around for over 60 years. It began as the Walnut Ridge Chamber of Commerce, but was expanded to include all of Lawrence County several years ago.
