Named teacher of yearDedra Riggs (center), English teacher at Hoxie High School, was honored on May 8, which was National Teachers Day, as the Teacher of the Year for the local Wal-Mart store. She was selected from nominations submitted to the store. On hand for the presentation were Krystal Winters (left) of Wal-Mart and HHS Principal Tim Gardner. Riggs received a polo shirt, a $100 gift card and a certificate, and the school received a $1,000 grant. Riggs is married to Jeremy Riggs and is the daughter of Phil and Vicki Clark. |
