Kyle Whitehead, three, and Brayden Whitehead, 17 months, are the children of John and Lori Whitehead of Jonesboro. Grandparents are Geneva Whitehead of Walnut Ridge and the late Claytus Whitehead and Larry and Sherry Clark of Jonesboro.
They are the great-grandsons of Ches Cooper of Bono.
I don't recall ever seeing as much plant damage as we have this year from the early April freeze. New growth on shrubs and some trees was zapped by the cold snap. I was told that the Farmer's Almanac said not to plant gardens and other plants until April 15. That was good advice. Herb Ginn, county agriculture agent, tells about the freeze and its possible damage to area crops.
Prom check list and quiz
Prom ~ a formal ball held for a school class toward the end of the academic year. The word prom is short for promenade. The word promenade is from the french "promener" which means to take a walk.
Planning for the prom can take weeks or months. Even though you've made plans far in advance, such as renting or buying your clothes, making your hair and nail appointments, making your reservations for dinner and other important decisions, a last minute checklist can help make the event go smoothly.
