It's a race to the bag for Hillcrest's Natalie Johnson (#10) and Walnut Ridge's Lindsey Sims (#14) as Sims slides into third base. Walnut Ridge came out on top in the game 16-6. Additional images can be seen on the photo pages at www.lawrencecounty.biz.

Lady Cats
beat Hillcrest

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats made their way to Lynn on April 9 to take on the Lady Screamin' Eagles of Hillcrest in high school softball.

The Lady Cats notched a 16-6 win to improve to 14-4 overall and 6-1 in conference 2A-2 play.

Staci Spargo earned the win, giving up six runs on eight hits and striking out nine in seven innings of work.

Offensively for Walnut Ridge, Vanessa Oliver and Taylor Wagner had two hits each. Jessica Osbhar closed with three RBIs. Lindsey Sims and Spargo scored two runs each.

Jessica Broadway recorded a two-run homer for Hillcrest.
