Lady Cats defeat S-H

The Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds traveled to Walnut Ridge on Thursday to take on the Lady Bobcats in high school softball.

Sloan-Hendrix scored two runs in the top of the first inning; Walnut Ridge responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Lady Cats added one run in the second inning and two more in the third for an 8-2 lead.

Each team added a run in the fourth and Walnut Ridge added two in the fifth to lengthen their lead to 11-3.

Walnut Ridge answered a Lady Hounds run in the top of the sixth inning with two in the bottom of the inning to set the final score at 13-4.

Staci Spargo took the win, pitching a three-hitter.

Offensively for the Lady Cats, Spargo batted 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs. Taylor Wagoner closed with three hits, including a double. Jordan Rorex, Lindsey Sims and Jessica Osbhar each had two hits.
