Cats defeat Midland

Walnut Ridge traveled to Pleasant Plains Friday and defeated Midland 6-5 in high school baseball.

Brandon Dawson earned the victory, allowing five runs on seven hits, with seven strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.

Jared Blackwell hit 3-for-4, and Tom Jackson hit 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Trumann defeated the Bobcats 3-2 on April 2 at Walnut Ridge.

Walnut Ridge traveled to Batesville to play in the Pioneer Classic.

The Bobcats edged Cedar Ridge 12-11 in their first game.

Chris Logan secured the win with a sliding catch in the bottom of the seventh inning.

At the plate, Logan had three hits and four RBIs, and Bennett Dudley had two hits and scored two runs.

Walnut Ridge fell to Manila 15-5 in their next game.
