Lady Cats win three

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats softball team defeated Marmaduke 14-2 on April 4 at Walnut Ridge.

The Lady Bobcats scored one run in the first inning and added two in the second. The Lady Cats scored eight runs in the third inning to Marmaduke's two and added three in the fourth.

Staci Spargo pitched a complete game for Walnut Ridge, allowing one earned run on only two hits, and recording eight strikeouts.

Jordan Rorex and Morgan Witcher each batted 2-for-3. Vanessa Oliver had two hits and two RBIs. Amber Caldwell recorded two RBIs, and Spargo had two hits. Lindsey Sims and Taylor Wagoner each had a hit.

Cedar Ridge

The Lady Bobcats defeated Cedar Ridge 2-0 on April 3.

Walnut Ridge scored one run in the third inning and another in the fifth.

Spargo allowed two hits, while striking out 12 and walking one.

Rorex earned two RBIs, and Chelsey Linebaugh had a hit.

Maynard

Walnut Ridge defeated Maynard 13-1 on April 2 at Walnut Ridge.

Walnut Ridge scored three runs in the first inning and added five runs in the second, to Maynard's one.

The Lady Cats added five more runs in the third inning to take the win.

Spargo pitched a complete game and allowed only two hits.

Spargo also hit 2-for-4, including a triple and had an RBI. Jessica Osbahr was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Rorex and Sims each had a triple, and Wagoner batted 1- for-2.
