Mustangs claim win at SH

The Hoxie Mustangs traveled to Imboden on April 2 to take on the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds in high school baseball.

After each team scored a run in the first inning, Hoxie added five in the second inning to the Greyhounds one for a 6-2 lead.

Each club scored a run in the third, and the Mustangs added one in the fourth to move ahead 8-3.

Each team added three runs in the sixth inning, as the Mustangs claimed an 11-6 win.

Tanner Jarrett earned the victory on the mound, pitching all seven innings, striking out nine and giving up six hits.

Blaine Middlecoff hit 3-for-3 at the plate and scored four runs. Jake Hitt went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.

Jonathan Lawrence hit 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored three runs. Billy Mike Watson and Cody Bass each went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
