Black Rock's Logan Orrick slides in to home plate during the Zebras' 13-7 victory over Weiner.
The Black Rock Zebras defeated the Weiner Cardinals 13-7 in high school baseball on Thursday at Black Rock.
Logan Orrick (3-1) pitched six innings and earned the win.
Tommy Lawrence notched a triple, a two-run homer and had three RBIs. Mitchell Thompson added two hits and two RBIs. Noe Linan earned two hits, including a solo home run.
The Zebras remain undefeated in 1A-3 South conference play at 5-0 and 8-4 overall. Their next game is April 2 when they host Oak Ridge Central.
The Zebras and the Izard County Consolidated Cougars split a baseball doubleheader on March 19 at Brockwell.
Black Rock took the first game 5-3.
Orrick earned the victory, giving up two runs on two hits in three innings.
Chris Richardson and Orrick each went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Matt Chadwick hit 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.
ICC won the second game 4-2.
Thompson pitched two innings, giving up three runs on two hits and striking out one.
Chadwick went 1-for-2 at bat with an RBI and had a stolen base.
Black Rock traveled to Weiner on March 16 and recorded a 10-3 road victory over the Cardinals.
Thompson pitched five innings, striking out six, walking four and allowing one earned run. Orrick pitched the last two innings for the Zebras and had two strikeouts.
Thompson went 2-for-4 at the plate, with a two-run single.
