Spring cleanups set for county, citiesLawrence County will have Class IV dumpsters available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The dumpsters are for non-household waste such as appliances and furniture. No tires, shingles or building materials will be accepted.
They will be located at Bill Jones Wrecker Services at Powhatan and at the county shop on Highway 67, south of Hoxie.
The city of Hoxie will hold a two-week spring cleanup beginning Monday. Curbside pickup will begin on the northwest side of Midway Road and work southwest to the bypass then cross over to the southeast side and work northwest to the Brewer Addition.
All items must be by the street ready for pickup. No return trips will be made. Items that can be picked up are metal (appliances, etc.), brush (tree limbs no longer than five feet), wood (boards) and junk items. Items that cannot be picked up are tires, batteries, paint cans and chemical cans.
Dates for the Walnut Ridge citywide cleanup have been set for April 9-21. Citizens are asked to set unwanted items by the road for curbside pickup.
Dumpsters will be available at the city shop from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from now on, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays during the cleanup only.
No roofing shingles, tires, paint or hazardous chemicals may be placed in the dumpster.
There will be a Free Dump Day at the landfill in Paragould on April 28 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No liquid, medical or hazardous waste will be allowed. Tires and recyclables will be accepted including unwanted appliances, computers and office machines.
Tires and recyclables should be separated from items to be landfilled.
Landfill employees cannot assist with unloading. This is a one-day event, rain or shine.
