Hillcrest girls sweep Twin Rivers

Hillcrest's Lady Screamin' Eagles hosted Twin Rivers in a softball doubleheader at Lynn on Friday.
In the first game, Hillcrest scored eight runs in each of the first two innings on their way to a 20-3 win.
Natalie Johnson was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on two hits in three innings of work.
Offensively for Hillcrest, Jessica Broadway went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and scored three runs. Jessica Jarrett went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and scored two runs. Tamara Evans went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and scored three runs. Whitney Jones had two RBIs and scored two runs. Terra Polston scored three runs. Lauren Pickle had three RBIs and scored a run. Johnson had an RBI and scored two runs. Stevie Howard scored two runs, and Trisha Glenn scored two runs.
The Lady Eagles completed the sweep with at 13-1 win in the second game.
Jarrett was the winning pitcher, allowing one run on two hits in four innings.
At the plate, Miranda Doyle batted 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored three runs. Howard went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and scored two runs. Jones went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Johnson had two RBIs and scored a run. Lindsey Deeter had an RBI and scored two runs. Kayla McBride and Polston each scored two runs, and Elaina Pankey scored once.
Hillcrest defeated Quitman 12-8 on Thursday at Lynn.
Broadway started on the mound and struck out five, walked four and allowed three earned runs in seven innings to pick up the win.
At the plate, Broadway went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs. Evans hit a grand slam, while Jarrett and Poston each had two hits.
Hillcrest traveled to Newark to take on Cedar Ridge on March 13.
Hillcrest scored three runs in the first inning. Cedar Ridge scored three runs in the second to tie the game 3-3.
The Lady Screamin' Eagles regained the lead with four runs in the third inning.
Cedar Ridge recorded a run in the fifth and Hillcrest added one in the sixth to set the final score at 8-4.
Broadway was the winning pitcher allowing five hits, four walks and striking out one in seven innings,
Lauren Pickle batted 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Evans earned two RBIs, and Jones recorded a double.
The Lady Eagles hosted the Lady Bears of White County Central on March 12 at Lynn.
WCC took a 6-1 first inning lead over the Lady Eagles. The Lady Bears added three runs to Hillcrest's one for a 9-2 lead. Hillcrest added two runs in the fifth inning, but still trailed 9-4.
WCC went on to record an 11-5 victory.
Broadway took the loss from the mound, allowing five hits, walking four and striking out four.
Broadway batted 2-for-4 with three RBI's. Evans went 2-for-3 at the plate, and Jarrett went 2-for-2, recording two triples.
