meeting is March 8

The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will have its quarterly meeting on March 8 at the Northeast Arkansas Educational Cooperative.

The guest speaker will be Jim Wooten of Beebe. He will speak on economic development and community revitalization, including Beebe's recovery after being hit by a tornado in 1999.

He serves as chairman of the Beebe Industrial Development Commission and is past chairman of the Beebe Economic Development Commission. He currently serves as chairman of Arkansas Good Roads, is on the board of the State Council of Economic Education and is vice chairman of the Beebe Education School Fund.

Wooten is also a former Arkansas State Trooper. He is a deacon and teaches a Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Beebe.

The meal will be a fish dinner, catered by Ole Hickory. The cost will be $6 per plate.

Tickets can be reserved by calling Kathy Bradley at the Chamber office, 886-3232, by Monday.
