S-H boys fall to
Greyhound Johnnie Snyder goes up for a shot as teammate John Thomison sets up under the goal during Sloan-Hendrix's game with Quitman in the first round of the district tournament. Quitman defeated the Hounds 55-27 to advance.
The Sloan-Hendrix senior boys lost to the Quitman Bulldogs 55-27 in the first round of the 2A-2 District Basketball Tournament at Cedar Ridge on Feb. 12.
The Bulldogs took a 9-5 lead after one quarter. The Greyhounds were over powered in the second quarter and trailed 20-10 at halftime.
Quitman hammered the boards in the second half and ran out to a 41-16 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Rodger Dexter led the Hounds with 10 points. Johnnie Snyder added eight points, and Stanley Archer chipped in five. Chad Orrick hit a three-pointer, and John Thomison added a free throw.
