The by-laws were updated to expand the executive committee from five to seven members. It will now be made up of two members representing Hoxie and Walnut Ridge, two representing Lawrence County and one representative from College City, since the trail will end there.
New Officers are: Lewis Slaughter, chairman; Junior Briner, vice chairman; Lee Turnbull, secretary/treasurer; Sherry Moore, publicity chairman; and Sue Whitmire, fund-raising chairman.
The Quorum Court and College City will submit their additional names to be active for subsequent meetings.
The group will be meeting weekly to prepare for the March 9 presentation to a grant review committee in Jacksonville.
Walnut Ridge Mayor Michelle Rogers, Hoxie Mayor Donnie Roberts and Lawrence County Quorum Court member Craig Stone also attended the Feb. 13 meeting.
