Cavenaugh Auto Group
awarded state contract

The Cavenaugh Auto Group Fleet and Commercial sales division has recently been awarded contracts to provide vehicles for the state of Arkansas.

President and chief executive officer of the Cavenaugh Auto Group, Dondal Cavenaugh, announced that Cavenaugh Ford in Black Rock and Cavenaugh GM Superstore and Cavenaugh Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, both in Walnut Ridge. Have the 2007 state contracts to provide police packaged vehicles and other vehicles for the state.

The police package cars are for the Ford Crown Victoria and the Dodge Charger. Other state and local agencies purchase vehicles through the state contracts as well.

“We’re extremely happy to bring this business into Northeast Arkansas and hope to move a lot of cars,” Cavenaugh said. “We’ve tried to get this (state contracts) several times, but this is the first time we have been successful. The bidding was very close, but overall we feel this will be very beneficial for Northeast Arkansas.”

Fleet and Commercial services manager, Bud Moxley, said, “I think there is a lot of potential growth for us through these state contracts. The agreements will help get the dealerships statewide recognition.”

Moxley, an experienced law enforcement officer in Craighead County, added that Cavenaugh also has state contracts for six other vehicle categories –Chevrolet double-cab pickups, Dodge quad-cab pickups, Ford Focus, Ford Freestar express vans and Chevrolet Malibu Max. Orders for over 295 vehicles have already been placed.

The Cavenaugh organization, with corporate offices based in Walnut Ridge, has 14 locations featuring 18 different new vehicle lines.

The Cavenaugh Auto Group now employs a total of over 250 people in Northeast and Central Arkansas, including a new in-house advertising agency, DMD Studios, which produces all of the television, radio and print advertising for the Cavenaugh Auto Group.

The Lawrence County based automotive group, with over 28 years in the automotive business, is now one of the region’s largest as well.

“At Cavenaugh, we are always working to ensure that our customers are treated with respect, and in the most honest and professional manner,” Cavenaugh said.
