TD sale price to be 75 centsGretchen Hunt
After more than 10 years at 50 cents an issue, TD Publisher John Bland said the price will see an increase to 75 cents with the Feb. 7 issue.
"We hated to go up to 50 cents when we had to in 1995, and we hate to make this increase, as well," Bland said.
"But, with the rising costs the newspaper industry has been seeing, the increase is actually overdue."
Subscription rates saw a small increase at the first of the year, as well, going up $2 a year. Individuals in Lawrence and surrounding counties can receive the paper in the mail for $28 a year. Subscriptions elsewhere in the state are $34 and outside of Arkansas are $36.
In addition, The Times Dispatch offers walk-in subscriptions for those who wish to pay by the year but want to pick up their paper on Wednesdays.
"With the rack price increasing, walk-in subscriptions will provide individuals with an $11 savings over purchasing the paper each week," Bland said.
The walk-in subscription rate is also $28 a year. A card is kept at The TD office and punched each week when the subscriber picks up the paper.
"We appreciate the loyalty of our readers throughout the years," Bland said. "The Times Dispatch has been serving Lawrence County since 1910, and we look forward to many more years in the community."
