Moskal resigns as Chamber director
Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Clay Sloan (left) talks with Chamber Director Ted Moskal following a special meeting of the board on Tuesday. Sloan called the meeting after receiving a letter of resignation from Moskal, who has served in the position for three years.

Ted Moskal, executive director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, has resigned from the position, effective Jan. 31.
In a letter to Clay Sloan, chair of the Chamber board, Moskal stated, "I greatly appreciated the opportunity to serve the Lawrence County community and have enjoyed working with you and all the members of the Board of Directors." continued...
LVFD uses bloodhounds
Lynn Volunteer Fire Department is the base for the Lawrence County Search and Rescue team. Two trained bloodhounds, Daisy and Molly, joined their team last year.

WR considering taking over
spec building from Chamber
Walnut Ridge Mayor Michelle Rogers and the city council lost little time in getting down to business at their first meeting on Jan. 16 at city hall. Mayor Rogers welcomed visitors State Reps. John Paul Wells of Paris, Monty Davenport of Yellville and JR Rogers of Walnut Ridge, as well as Ron Thomas of the Americans With Disabilities Act. She told them that she and the council appreciated them being present and thanked them for their interest in the city. continued...
Hoxie launches website
The city of Hoxie recently launched a website, www.hoxiear.org, that has been in the works since last July.
"The intent of the website is to attempt to cast Hoxie in a favorable light with potential new residents as well as allowing potential new businesses to constantly obtain updated information concerning Hoxie," said Dewey Scott, project coordinator. continued...
TD sale price to be 75 cents
After more than 10 years at 50 cents an issue, TD Publisher John Bland said the price will see an increase to 75 cents with the Feb. 7 issue.
"We hated to go up to 50 cents when we had to in 1995, and we hate to make this increase, as well," Bland said. continued...
