Lady Bobcats beat Midland

Walnut Ridge traveled to Pleasant Plains to take on the Midland Mustangs in high school basketball action on Friday.

The Lady Bobcats led 12-8 at the close of the first quarter, and Walnut Ridge dashed to a 26-18 lead heading into halftime.

Walnut Ridge put the game away in the second half, claiming a 43-37 victory.

The win improved the Lady Bobcats' record to 15-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 in 2A-2 conference play.

Rachel Looney led Walnut Ridge with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Chelsea Treadway contributed 11 points, and Jordan Rorex added five. Vanessa Oliver and Chelsey Linebaugh tossed in three points each, and Lacey Cobble added a free throw.

Midland took the 65-41 win over Walnut Ridge in junior high boys action.
