Collin Patrick Andrews
Aaron and Jenny Andrews of Walnut Ridge announce the birth of their second son, born January 4, 2007, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed eight pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Collin Patrick Andrews. His brother, Mason Andrews, is two.
The grandparents live in Atmore, Ala., and the great-grandparents lived in Pawhuska, Okla., and Centralia, Mo.
Karleigh Marie Clements
Justin and Casey Clements of Walnut Ridge are parents of a daughter, born Dec. 14, 2006, at Harris Hospital in Newport. The baby weighed seven pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Karleigh Marie Clements.
Grandparents are Fairl and Sandra Boyles of Earle and Randy and Ronda Clements of Walnut Ridge. Great-grandparents are Betty Kelley of Earle, Mary Stanley of Tyronza and Rudy and Mary Clements of Walnut Ridge.
Bennett Kristopher Ditto
A son was born to Nick and Jill Ditto of Jonesboro on Jan. 10, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. The baby weighed six pounds, 14 ounces, and has been named Bennett Kristopher Ditto. He has a sister, Kaira Brooke.
Grandparents are Phil and Carolyn Ulrey and Patsy Bennett. Great-grandparents are Margaret Bennett, Ruthann and Norm Ulrey and Luke and Ruby Holsapple.
Mason Carter Harris
Justin and Jennifer Harris of Paragould announce the birth of their second son, born Jan. 9, 2007, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed seven pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Mason Carter Harris. His brother, Gavin Harris, is two.
Grandparents include John and Karen Crum of Walnut Ridge, Gordon and Carole Lenninger of Jonesboro, Gale and Paula Harris of Southaven, Miss., and Dale and Marsha Phillips of Jonesboro. Great-grandparents are Ann Shelton of Jonesboro and Virginia Crum of Walnut Ridge.
Rothe ~ Biggs
Sara Biggs became the bride of Jeremy Rothe in a ceremony solemnized Friday night at the Turning Point Center in Walnut Ridge.
Parents of the couple are Marshall and Jeanne Potts of Piggott and Jerry and Peggy Rothe of O'Kean.

Kathryn Virginia Bolding
Kathryn Virginia Bolding, 82, of Black Rock, died Jan. 11, 2007, in North Little Rock.
She was the daughter of John and Zella Mae Cummings. A homemaker, she had lived in Black Rock for 49 years after moving there from Smithville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Wesley Bolding, in 1979; a daughter, Palutta Johnson; and a sister, Bonnie Self.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Lou Bolding, Dallas, Debbie Thatcher, Imboden, Diane Tribble, Jonesboro, and Sharon Lowery, Bald Knob; a son, Michael Bolding, Mountain Home; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Smithville Baptist Church with Harold Russell and Keith Marlin officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery, near Smithville, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
G.W. Durham, 78, of Jonesboro, formerly of Paragould, died Dec. 29, 2006, at his home.
Born July 10, 1928, at Strawberry, he was a retired cabinet maker and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ona Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Durham; a daughter, Vicky Ray, Blytheville; three brothers, Edward Durham, Saffell, Noel Durham, Smithville, and Billy Dean Durham, Strawberry; two sisters, Alligene Vandiver and Verdell Deal, both of Arnold, Mo.; two grandchildren, Heath Ray and Casey Ray; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service was Sunday, Dec. 31 at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Herbert Starr officiating. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Eddie Durham, Ronnie Vandiver, Michael Church, Tal Durham, Rick Wineland, Chuck Mossman, Mitch Bell and Perry Bell. Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Dowdy, J.W. Yates, Winfred Parker, Carroll Childress and Barry Reddick.

Evelyn Pearce James
Evelyn Pearce James, 88, of Jonesboro, died Jan. 8, 2007, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.
Born at Hoxie, she was the daughter of Clay and Blanche Dunn Pearce and was a 1937 graduate of Hoxie High School. She became one of the first civilian employees at the Pentagon in 1942 and later worked for the War Department at Memphis.
She married Julian C. James in 1946. They operated Julian's Ladies Wear on Main Street in Jonesboro for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star, UCT and First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Julian C. James; her second husband, James Skeen, whom she married in 1975; a daughter, Renee James Jackson; and two infant children.
Survivors include a son, Julian Wilson James, Fayetteville; a brother, Woodrow "Woody" Pearce, Glendale, Calif.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Mary Kelley, Jonesboro.
A memorial service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Langford-Bookout Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Emil Williams officiating.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Howard Jasper "Chief" Matthews
Howard Jasper "Chief" Matthews, 82, of Ravenden Springs, died Jan. 10, 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Matthews; four sons, Howard Matthews, Millington, Tenn., Bobby Matthews and Jackie Matthews, both of Ravenden Springs, and Scottie Matthews, Ravenden; two daughters, Patricia Goodsell, Ravenden Springs, and Phyllis Roark, Ravenden; a brother, Todd Matthews, Winsfield, Kan.; a sister, Arlene Horsman, Imboden; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home at Pocahontas with Rev. Danny Roark officiating. Burial was in Kuhn-Matthews Cemetery. Military honors were provided by Promberger-Traw VFW Post No. 4556.
Robert Arthur Needham, 80, of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 15, 2007, at his home.
He had lived in Walnut Ridge most of his life and was a retired farm laborer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents, Elmer and Thelma Warren Needham; and two sisters, Mary Etta Gibbins, and Lillian Fdrandec.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Needham, Walnut Ridge, and Jimmy Dale Needham, Pennsylvania; four daughters, Gail Moore and Kay Allen, both of Walnut Ridge, Barbara Slatton, Missouri, and Janice Bunton, Mayflower; two sisters, Virginia Cockran and Sue Coats, both of California; a brother, Marvin Needham, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is Thursday at 10 a.m., at Lawrence Memorial Park with Buddy Tribble officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Rob Needham, Derek Needham, Zach Allen, Jake Smith, Jarrod Moore, Jesse Moore and Billy Blair.
Visitation is tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Burl Allen Quarry
Burl Allen Quarry, 78, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Clover Bend, died Jan. 13, 2007, in Jacksonville.
He was a retired building engineer, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Baptist. He had lived in Florida the past few years after moving from Memphis.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Quarry.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Quarry, St. Augustine, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Sue Lee, Cave Creek, Ariz.; two sisters, Pat Winfrey, Hoxie, and Barbara Brumley, Jonesboro; and three brothers, Kenneth Quarry, Hoxie, and Carroll Quarry and Jerry Quarry, both of Alicia.
Graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Clover Bend Cemetery with O.D. Winfrey officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Jason Quarry, Darrell Blalock, Donnie Hancock, Phil Brummett, Justin Quarry and Houston Hancock.
Visitation is tonight from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.
Kermit Riggs, 80, of Poughkeepsie, brother of Darrell Riggs of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 10, 2007, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Burial was Saturday in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Otho Martin Smith
Otho Martin Smith, 89, of Walnut Ridge, died Jan. 13, 2007, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
He had lived in Jonesboro for 52 years before moving to Walnut Ridge six years ago. A World War II Army veteran, he was a retired sales clerk for Sears, a Mason and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Sloan Smith; and a son, Steve Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Lynn Smith, Pocahontas; a sister, VeTrix Winchester,Pocahontas; two brothers, Clyde Smith, Black Rock, and H.G. Smith, Anderson, Ind.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral is today at 1 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Wanda Jean Smith
Wanda Jean Smith, 67, of Ravenden Springs, died Jan. 6, 2007, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1939, at Ravenden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hench Holder; and her parents, Emmit and Florence Loane Clements.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty McCandless and Linda Hall, both of Pocahontas; a son, Kenneth Holder, Wartrace, Tenn.; six brothers, Rudy Clements and Jim Clements, both of Walnut Ridge, Jerry Clements, Myrtle, Mo., Ezell Clements, Prescott, Ariz., Connie Clements, Annieville, and Lynn Clements, Arlington, Tenn.; five sisters, Elsie Hausman, Pocahontas, Shirley Nettles, Alicia, Letha Collins, Alton, Mo., Sadie Flint, Imboden, and Cordia Wildrick, Annieville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 10 in the chapel of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home of Pocahontas with Paul Craig officiating. Burial was in Opposition Cemetery at Ravenden.

Sharon Diann Thomas, 56, of Trumann, sister of Richard "Sonny" Goodwin, of O'Kean, died Jan. 14, 2007.
