Lady Zebras drop two

The Black Rock Lady Zebras were defeated by the Viola Lady Longhorns 53-31 in senior high girls basketball on Dec. 12 at Black Rock.

The Lady Longhorns led 32-24 at halftime and extended their lead to 47-28 heading into the final quarter.

Whitney Martin led the Lady Zebras with 11 points.

Delaplaine

Black Rock hosted Delaplaine's Lady Indians on Dec. 11.

The Lady Zebras got off to a fast start, taking a 20-19 lead after one quarter.

The Lady Indians were too strong and had moved out to a 37-23 lead at the end of the third quarter, en route to defeating the Lady Zebras 51-33.

Shanda Whitlow led Black Rock with nine points.

Delaplaine also won the junior girls game 32-27.
