Lady Hounds win one, lose oneDebbie Richey
The Paragould Lady Rams visited Sloan-Hendrix on Nov. 21 and defeated the Lady Greyhounds 53-33.
Paragould led 13-8 after the opening quarter and 36-21 at halftime.
Sloan-Hendrix was unable to gain ground on the Lady Rams and trailed 46-31 as the game headed into the final quarter.
Brittany Conrad scored in double digits for the Lady Hounds with 12 points and had 13 rebounds. Katelyn Morris contributed seven points and three rebounds. Amanda Green added four points and two rebounds. Megan Break closed with three points and eight rebounds. Christie Caldwell had three points and nine rebounds. Latricia Mans tossed in two points and had two rebounds, and Amy Green had two points and three rebounds.
Paragould defeated Sloan-Hendrix in the junior high game 40-27.
Paragould took a 10-6 lead after the first quarter. Despite the junior Lady Greyhounds' efforts, they trailed 18-13 at halftime break.
Paragould continued to hold a 31-19 lead closing the third quarter.
Kristin Belcher led the Lady Hounds with 11 points and nine rebounds. Hannah Rowsey added six points and three rebounds. Alivia Hackworth contributed five points and three rebounds. Ashley Stallings and Maegan Austin each added two points. Stallings also recorded two rebounds, and Kara Morris notched a free throw and two rebounds.
The Lady Greyhounds traveled to Maynard on Nov. 20 and recorded a 58-50 win over the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Hounds moved out to a lead of 14-10 over the Lady Tigers at the close of the first quarter and clung to a 30-25 lead at halftime.
The Lady Hounds continued to hold off Maynard in the third period and led 38-33 heading into the last quarter. Sloan-Hendrix continued to pound the boards in the final period, notching 50 rebounds for the night.
Conrad led Sloan-Hendrix with 21 points and eight rebounds. Morris contributed 14 points and six rebounds, and Amanda Green added nine points and 15 rebounds. Caldwell had four points and five rebounds, and Mans had four points and three rebounds. Amy Green had four points and one rebound, and Break tossed in two points and had 12 rebounds.
