Alexandria Faith Lea Baldwin
JJosh and Loria Baldwin of Pocahontas announce the birth of a daughter, born Nov. 21, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed five pounds, 14 ounces, and has been named Alexandria Faith Lea Baldwin. She has a sister, Alexis Baldwin, seven.

Grandparents are Jesse and Betty Ferrell of O'Kean and Diana Baldwin of Jacksonville and the late Robbie Baldwin. The great-grandmother is Thelma Berry of O'Kean.

Chantelle Awtum Nicole Gray
Joshua Charles and Raquel Marie Gray of Walnut Ridge are parents of a daughter, born Nov. 9, 2006, at Harris Hospital in Newport. Weighing seven pounds, five-and-eight-tenths ounces, she has been named Chantelle Awtum Nicole Gray.

Grandparents are Chuck Gray of Walnut Ridge, Peggy Gorecki of Hoxie and the late Arnoldo and Gloria Alamo. Great-grandparents are Ray and Wanda Powers of Walnut Ridge, Perry Joe Gray of Alicia, Cloria Cullum of Hoxie and Janet Lemmon of Gary, Ind.

Riley Jason Henry
Jason and Jennifer Henry of Walnut Ridge announce the birth of a son, born Nov. 21, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed seven pounds, seven ounces, and has been named Riley Jason Henry. He has a brother, Hunter Andrew Henry, two-and-a-half years old.

Grandparents are Linda Hurst of Hoxie and the late Silas Hurst and Terry and Cathy Henry of Walnut Ridge. Great-grandparents are AJ and Janelle Henry of Walnut Ridge and Shirley Inman of Greers Ferry.

Laney Grace Horton
Derek and Amanda Horton of Black Rock announce the birth of a daughter, born Nov. 9, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed eight pounds, four ounces and has been named Laney Grace Horton. She has a sister, Zoey Horton, three-and-a-half.

Grandparents are Charles and RebeKah Ring and Terry and Mary Horton, all of Black Rock. Great-grandparents include Bill and Judy Cates of Ravenden Springs, Larry and Diane Horton of Walnut Ridge and Betty Fry of Hoxie. Great great grandparents include Grace Griffin of Pocahontas and Wilburn and Agnes Hibbs of Walnut Ridge.

Karson Jakob Reid
Steve and Hailey Reid of Paragould are parents of a son, born Nov. 9, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. The baby weighed seven pounds, eight ounces, and has been named Karson Jakob Reid. He has a brother, Kobe Steven Reid, four.

Grandparents are Joe and Shelby Faulkner of Paragould and Buddy and Faye Reid of Black Rock. The great-grandmother is Audrey Wortham of Jonesboro.

Blake Weston Smith
Todd and Angela Smith of Bono are parents of a son, born Nov. 20, 2006, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed seven pounds, 15.7 ounces, and has been named Blake Weston Smith. He has a two-year-old brother, Sean Smith.

Grandparents are Norman Ellison of Swifton, Christy Partain of Oklahoma City and Jeremy and Mary Ann Smith of Gosnell. Anna J. Brown of Oklahoma City is the great-grandmother.

Karen LaNell Barker
Karen LaNell Barker, 49, of Bay, died Nov. 26, 2006, at St. Vincent's Infirmary.

Born Nov. 8, 1957, in Jonesboro, she lived in Walnut Ridge several years and graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1977. She was a medical technician at Cardiology Associates of Jonesboro. She attended Temple Baptist Church where she was active in the Awana Program, the Seasons Sunday school class, Temple Missions Program and the welcome committee.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frankie Cravens: her father, Raymond Poley Poteete, who died in 1987, and a brother, Raymond Lloyd Poteete.

Survivers include her husband, Michael Ray Barker; a daughter, Tyna Cravens of the home; her mother, Alice Marie Jones Poteete, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Alice Poteete Findly, Baytown, Texas.

A celebration of her life will be today at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Paulbearers will be Glen McKay, Tony Sartin, Gary Barker, Bobby Southard, Quillon Vincent and Thomas Poteete. Honorary pallbearers will be The Seasons Sunday School Class and the Bay High School Class of 2006.

Aline Cleveland Phillips

Aline Cleveland Phillips, 88, of Batesville, formerly of Fort Smith, died Nov. 25, 2006, in Newport.

Born May 4, 1918, in Newark, she was the daughter of Edgar and Willie Tate Cleveland. She was a member of Westark Church of Christ in Fort Smith and was a charter member of the International Zonta Club.

Survivors include a son, Mitchell Gardner, Sulphur Rock; a daughter, Marjorie Faye Rogers, Casper, Wyo.; two brothers, Arthur Cleveland, Searcy, and Jim Cleveland, Little Rock; two sisters, Jean Belbers, Memphis, and Shirley Guy, Walnut Ridge; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Bruce Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in James Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Charles Douglas Strickland
Charles Douglas Strickland, 66, of Pocahontas, brother of Sherry Ezell of Powhatan, died Nov. 21, 2006. A memorial service was held Monday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.

Lillie Mae Wheeler Turner
Lillie Mae Wheeler Turner, 59, of Sidney, sister of Bonnie Pittman of Ravenden, died Nov. 20, 2006. A memorial service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel at Melbourne with David Bulliner officiating.
