Hoxie accepts bid on new
truck for street department

In their meeting on Tuesday night, Hoxie City Council accepted a bid for $14,810.68 from Central Chevrolet in Jonesboro for a new street department truck.

Mayor Paul Hendrix updated the council about the progress on the new fire department building saying the building would arrive on Nov. 16.

Hendrix said the concrete has not been poured, but all plumbing and drains have been set. Concrete work will begin as soon as weather permits.

The council also approved bonuses, $25 for part-time employees and $100 for full-time employees, for city employees and a pay-raise for the city water clerk.
