Community comes
together to give thanks
Rev. Lynn Garmroth, pastor of Hoxie First Baptist Church, encouraged members of the community to focus on and be thankful for the many positive things occurring in their lives and communities.
Garmroth delivered the message Sunday night at the annual Community Thanksgiving Service held at First Assembly of God. Members of several denominations, primarily from Hoxie and Walnut Ridge, filled the worship center. continued...

CASA breakfast
Arches wrapped in greenery, tables decorated with large Mylar Christmas balloons, a long table of baked goods and an elaborately decorated stage awaited visitors to the annual CASA Pancake Breakfast with Santa and Bake Sale.

Hoxie accepts bid on new
truck for street department
In their meeting on Tuesday night, Hoxie City Council accepted a bid for $14,810.68 from Central Chevrolet in Jonesboro for a new street department truck.

Sedgwick man dies in
truck, train accident
An accident involving a pickup truck and a train resulted in the death of a Sedgwick man, according to Trooper Jeremy Conner of the Arkansas State Police.
