Lady Hounds split meetings
with Mammoth Spring Bears

The Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds hosted Mammoth Spring Friday night and suffered a 52-35 homecoming loss to the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears were in control for the entire game, leading 14-8 after the first quarter, 34-19 at halftime and 46-29 after three quarters.

Megan Break led the Lady Hounds with 12 points and six rebounds. Brittany Conrad contributed 10 points and eight rebounds. Tonya Dotson added four points and one rebound.

Katelyn Morris totaled three points and three rebounds, while Amanda Green had three points and four rebounds, and Christie Caldwell closed with three points and one rebound.

At Mammoth Spring

The Sloan-Hendrix junior and senior high girls basketball teams traveled to Mammoth Spring on Oct. 23. Each Lady Greyhound squad brought home a hard-fought victory over the Lady Bears.

The senior Lady Hounds used a strong fourth quarter to outlast the Lady Bears 61-56, while the junior Lady Hounds prevailed 45-38 as Alivia Hackworth and Kristin Belcher combined for 32 of Sloan-Hendrix' points.

In the senior high contest, Mammoth Spring moved out to a 17-12 lead after one quarter, only to see the Lady Greyhounds surge to a 30-26 halftime lead.

Mammoth Spring regained the lead 47-45 entering the fourth quarter, but could not hold off Sloan-Hendrix in the final period of the see-saw game.

Dotson led the Lady Hounds with 22 points, three rebounds and four assists. Conrad contributed 14 points and six rebounds. Green added nine points, three rebounds and four assists. Break closed with eight points, three rebounds and two assists. Caldwell totaled four points, five rebounds and four assists, and Latricia Mans added four points and two rebounds.

In the junior high contest, Mammoth Spring held an 11-10 lead after the first quarter. Sloan-Hendrix took control of the game in the second period and led 26-23 at halftime.

The junior Lady Hounds increased their lead to 35-30 heading into the final period en route to the seven-point win.

Sloan-Hendrix was led by Hackworth, with 18 points, one rebound and two assists, while Belcher contributed 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. Hannah Rowsey notched 10 points, six rebounds and four assists. Heidi Powers added two points, two assists and three steals, and Kara Morris closed with two points and two rebounds.
