Lady Hounds fall to MarmadukeDebbie Richey
Marmaduke's Lady Greyhounds held off a fourth-quarter rally by Sloan-Hendrix to post a 56-49 win on Oct. 24 at Imboden.
Marmaduke took an 18-7 lead after the first quarter, and still led 27-18 at halftime, despite Sloan-Hendrix's efforts.
After the halftime break, Sloan-Hendrix could not dodge the assault of Marmaduke, as the visitors continued to lead by a score of 41-28.
Sloan-Hendrix made an explosive attempt in the final quarter to overtake Marmaduke, but came up short.
Tonya Dotson led Sloan-Hendrix with 13 points and four rebounds. Brittany Conrad followed with 12 points and four rebounds. Megan Break had 12 points and seven rebounds. Katelyn Morris contributed five points and four rebounds. Amanda Green had four points and eight rebounds. Amy Green added two points, and Latricia Mans tossed in a free throw.
The Sloan-Hendrix junior Lady Greyhounds claimed a 50-41 win over Marmaduke.
Sloan-Hendrix jumped out to a 21-8 first-quarter lead and led 28-13 at the half and 36-27 after three quarters.
Heidi Powers led Sloan-Hendrix with 11 points and four rebounds. Kristin Belcher contributed 10 points and three rebounds. Hannah Rowsey added nine points and five rebounds. Alivia Hackworth had eight points and one rebound. Ashley Stallings totaled six points. Kara Morris had four points and nine rebounds and Haley Slusser added two points.
The senior Lady Greyhounds played two games in the BIC Tipoff Classic at Monette.
The Lady Hounds were defeated by Manila 72-58 on Oct. 19.
Conrad notched 17 points and eight rebounds. Morris had 12 points and six rebounds. Amanda Green earned 10 points and nine rebounds. Dotson made eight points and nine rebounds. Break contributed six points. Christie Caldwell had three points, and Amy Green added two.
Sloan-Hendrix lost to Kirby 57-38 in their second game of the Classic on Oct. 21.
Dotson had eight points for the Lady Hounds. Morris had six points and eight rebounds. Conrad contributed six points and six rebounds. Break had five points and six rebounds. Mans had four points and two rebounds. Amy Green had three points. Caldwell had three points and six rebounds, and Amanda Green contributed three points.
