Grandparents' Corner Alaina Nicole McGuire, born May 18, 2006, is the daughter of Jennifer Spickler and Sean McGuire of Wentzville, Mo. Grandparents are Oliver and Mary McGuire and Debbie Spickler, all of Wentzville, and the late Tim Spickler. She is the great-granddaughter of Wilfred and Gloria Johnson of Wentzville and John W. "John Bill" Spickler of Overland, Mo.

Our family has been very interested in Charlotte Wheeless' three-week experiences in Japan. See the front page of the People & Events section. Charlotte teaches fifth and sixth grade science at the Walnut Ridge School. It is a new era when a teacher gets to experience that and share it with her students, before, during and after.

on bereavement support

Just over half of all parents who experience the death of their child while working outside the home rate their employers as having been helpful in providing support in the days that followed, according to a survey conducted by The Compassionate Friends.
