Lady Mustangs sweep Ridgefield Christian

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs hosted Ridgefield Christian in volleyball action on Thursday and swept the three matches from the Lady Warriors.
The Lady Mustangs senior B team won their match 25-10, 25-23.
Kelsey Dobbs was 10-of-11 from the line with nine aces and six assists. Malonni Cornell was seven-of-seven serving with two aces and two digs. Whitney Bennett was five-of-five from the line with an ace and three kills. Erica Galbreath had six aces and three kills. Elizabeth Whaley was three-of-three at the line with a kill, and Shalicia Wilson added three assists.
Hoxie won a junior high A contest 25-4, 25-7.
Chasity Becker served eight-of-eight with two aces and seven assists. Courtney Jones notched two kills and a block. Kassie Teel went 24-of-24 from the line with eight aces. Shayla Coats was eight-of-nine serving with four aces and a kill. Kelsey Lewis closed with a kill and a dig, and Erika Manis was five-of-five at the serving line with two aces and two kills.
Hoxie took the win in a junior B game 25-10.
Amy Galbreath served six-of-seven with two kills. Devine Wilson was nine-of-nine serving with two aces and five assists. Raven Davis was perfect serving with an assist. Brianna Liscomb closed with an ace. Jessica Boothe added an assist. Kelly Anglin went five of six at the line, and Katelyn Ellis notched a kill.
Hoxie hosted Brookland in volleyball on Oct. 10.
The Lady Bearcats slipped by the senior Lady Mustangs 16-25, 16-25, 20-25.
Hoxie's Jessica Anglin contributed four digs, 10 kills and 11 assists. Tabitha Weaver notched 10 assists. Rachel Goff added six digs, three kills and five blocks. Tiffany Bullard added six digs, seven kills and three blocks. Megan Black closed with 11 digs, two kills and seven blocks, and Alex Brewer had 10 digs and six blocks.
Hoxie won the junior high match 25-20, 25-11.
Becker served nine-of-11 with two aces, seven assists, two blocks and a kill. Jones added six kills, seven assists and a block. Teel went eight-of-nine at the line with a kill. Coats was 12-of-13 from the line with two aces, two digs and five kills. Lewis went eight-of-nine from the line with an ace, two digs and two kills, and Manis was four-of-four serving with two kills.
The Lady Mustangs captured a road victory over the Bay Lady Yellowjackets on Oct. 9.
The senior Lady Mustangs won in straight sets 25-12, 25-15, 25-7.
Weaver served 13-of-13 with two aces, 11 assists and four kills. Anglin and Goff contributed eight kills each. Bullard had six kills and two blocks, and Brewer had two kills, two digs and two blocks.
Hoxie also claimed a win in the junior high match 25-17, 25-15.
The junior Lady Mustangs totaled seven aces and four assists. Jones contributed three assists, two kills and an ace. Coats closed with four kills. Lewis had three digs, two kills and a block, and Manis notched an ace.
