Hoxie had 276 yards of total offense, while holding Corning to 133.
"Our kids battled their hearts out and I'm extremely proud of their effort, but we just didn't get it done offensively," head coach Tom Sears said.
" We had it inside their 15-yard line twice and didn't get any points."
Tyler Thompson led the Mustangs' defense with 27 tackles, followed by Derek Johnson with 18. Cook, Ward and Weston Gates each had 16 tackles. Troutman had 13 and Waldrupe had 10.
"I thought we were extremely aggressive and physical on defense," Sears added.
