Staff Writer
In the Quorum Court's regular meeting Monday night, Ron Thomas, county coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act, informed the court that out of 17 voting sites in the county, only two are in compliance with ADA regulations.
Fifteen sites need some updates including van accessible parking places. County Judge Alex Latham said they are currently working on updates to meet these regulations.
Some work is already scheduled.
In other business:
- Junior Briner informed the court that the budget committee was unable to make a recommendation for the 2007 budget because all budgets had not yet been received.
- Latham updated the court on the building donated to the county by Bob and Paula Hutcherson, formerly Cole's Furniture. The building, which was renamed the Hut building during the meeting, officially belongs to the county now. Latham said they have had several inquires about the building, but the court is not ready to make any decisions on it yet.
