No one seriously injured
in school bus accident

All 17 occupants were safely removed from the bus. Nine were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

A Hillcrest School bus loaded with students flipped Tuesday afternoon into a ditch on Lawrence County Road 269 in a one-vehicle accident. No one was listed in critical condition as of Tuesday evening.

All 17 passengers are accounted for. The bus was carrying 16 students ranging in age from five to 16 years old.

Seven students and the bus driver, Danny Foley, were transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for non-critical injuries. One student was transported to Randolph County Medical Center also for non-critical injuries.

Hoxie City Council met in special session Thursday to discuss possible economic development of property located on Highway 63 belonging to Wilson Schmidt.

Friends support one another
through struggles with cancer

The year was 1972 and four young women graduated from high school with hopes and dreams like most graduates. These four women were friends and looked forward to their futures.

Walk of Hope is Saturday

Family, friends and the community will all gather Saturday for the common cause of raising funds to support cancer sufferers and survivors in Lawrence County. The Lawrence County Walk of Hope and Carnival of Hope Cancer Benefit will take place on Hoxie School's Crider Football Field.

Segraves marks 45 years with TD

Friend, church member, aunt, sister, cousin, mom, grandma, great-grandma ~ many people in Lawrence County have some association with Hope Segraves, but she is probably known best for her years with The Times Dispatch.

A Walnut Ridge man was killed Friday night in a one-vehicle accident, near Walnut Ridge.

County voting locations
need ADA updates

In the Quorum Court's regular meeting Monday night, Ron Thomas, county coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act, informed the court that out of 17 voting sites in the county, only two are in compliance with ADA regulations.
