PAYROLL TECHNICIAN: Black River Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Payroll Technician. This is a full-time, 12-month position and is classified as a Grade C112 with the State Classification and Compensation System. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Enters and posts payroll data into computer payroll system. Reconciles payroll balances due to changes in employee status. Identifies and corrects errors in payroll input documents. Distributes payroll checks/direct deposit check stubs. Processes payments and maintains records for miscellaneous deductions. Maintains leave accounting and other payroll records. Compiles or assists with various reports related to payroll. Provides technical assistance or other information related to payroll and employee benefits program. QUALIFICATIONS: The formal education equivalent of an Associate’s Degree; plus three years of experience in accounting or a related field. QUALIFICATIONS: This person must be a registered nurse who is knowledgeable of the principles and practices in all fields of nursing. Preference will be given to applicants who hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), with consideration given to Diploma or ASN with the understanding that BSN must be pursued.
